Eric and Karen Maurer incorporated Maurer Management in 2004 and began to expand the family business over the years. They began to purchase historic buildings, one at a time, and restored them with historic integrity. They are huge advocates for historic preservation and for making the City of Ypsilanti better one building at a time.  Eric graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1985 and Karen graduated from University of Michigan in 1990. 

Matthew Maurer is a full-time Maintenance Technician and Supervisor at Maurer Management. He is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs, in addition, Matt collaborates with trade workers and tenants to resolve any maintenance issues as seamlessly as possible. Recent projects have included; remodeling a shared entryway at 27 South Summit, working with the city for approval to install new siding on the exterior of 608 Washtenaw and numerous apartment rehabilitations.

Emmy Maurer joined Maurer Management full time in Spring of 2021. Prior to working fulltime, she attended Eastern Michigan University where she majored in Interior Design. She graduated in April of 2021, with a Bachelors of Science. She loves being part of the family business and also does freelance interior design work on the side. Attending school, working, and living in Ypsilanti shows her love and support for the city.
